It began with a simple observation
Freya and Callum met at a financial services
conference in Melbourne. They both worked at
traditional firms and kept hearing the same
frustration from clients: "Why does this feel so
complicated?" Budgets felt restrictive.
Investment advice sounded like a foreign
language. And goal-setting? That often meant
filling out endless forms.
The breakthrough happened over coffee in
Adelaide. What if financial planning felt more
like having a conversation with someone who
actually cared about your life? Not just your
numbers, but what you were trying to build.
"We wanted to strip away the jargon and just
help people figure out what they wanted—and how
to get there without feeling overwhelmed."
By early 2020, sylantharo launched with six clients.
Now we work with hundreds of individuals and
families across Australia, and the approach
hasn't changed much. We still start by asking
what matters to you, not what your portfolio
looks like.
